  2. You can apply for the AAVS with successful approval from 1 February 2025 to 31 January 2026, and complete one auto-reload transaction on or before 28 February 2026 to enjoy the offer.
  3. The AAVS approval processing time is normally around 2 to 3 weeks. An activation letter will be sent to each applicant upon confirmation of a successful application. The approval of the application shall be at the discretion of Octopus Cards Limited and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited in Hong Kong.
  4. Octopus on iPhone and Apple Watch is available on designated mobile devices, please refer to www.octopus.com.hk/applepay for details.
  5. Octopus on Android is compatible with most Android devices with Android 12 or above, and available on designated mobile devices.

When can you enjoy the offer
  1. The promotional period for the offer is from 1 February 2025 to 31 January 2026.
What is the offer
  1. During the promotional period, you can enjoyed
    1. Offer 1: a HK$25 spending rebate in relation to successful Eligible AAVS application with auto-reload amount of HK$250; or
    2. Offer 2: a HK$50 spending rebate in relation to successful Eligible AAVS application with auto-reload amount of HK$500.
    You can enjoy Offer 1 and Offer 2 for a total of maximum 4 times during the entire promotional period.
How can you enjoy the offer
  1. You can enjoy the offer if you:
    1. hold an Eligible Credit Card and such credit card account is valid and in good standing during the promotional period and the Offer Fulfilment Period;
    2. have successfully applied for Eligible AAVS which links an Eligible Octopus to such Eligible Credit Card as the AAVS account during the promotional period;
    3. have successfully completed the Registration during the promotional period; and
    4. have performed the first AAVS transaction on the Eligible Octopus between 1 February 2025 and 28 February 2026.
Read before you enjoy the offer
  1. During the promotional period, you can apply for Eligible AAVS for yourself (up to 3 Eligible Octopus) and/or for a maximum of 3 family member(s) or friend(s) aged 12 and above. Each Eligible Octopus is only entitled to the offer once for this promotion.
  2. If you qualify for the offer, we will credit the spending rebate to your first Eligible Credit Card account registered for this promotion in our record on or before the Offer Fulfilment Period as set out in the table below:

  3. We will use the Octopus identification number(s) of the Eligible Octopus in the Eligible AAVS application(s) to identify and verify your eligibility for the offer. We and Octopus Cards Limited will transfer or disclose to each other the Octopus identification numbers of the Eligible Octopus to facilitate offer eligibility reconciliation and customer related services. Octopus Cards Limited will destroy such data relating to this promotion 7 months after completion of the last Offer Fulfilment Period.
  4. You cannot exchange the spending rebate for cash, other products, promotional offers, discounts or transfer the offer or withdraw it as a cash advance. The spending rebate can be used for subsequent credit card purchases only and cannot be used to settle any previous outstanding balance.
  1. You only need to register once during the promotional period. If you make more than one Eligible AAVS application, we will consider the Eligible AAVS under all of your Eligible Credit Cards and calculate the total amount of spending rebate you enjoy based on our records of the Eligible AAVS applications and AAVS transactions, and credit the total amount of spending rebate you enjoy to your first Eligible Credit Card account registered for this promotion.
  2. We and Octopus Cards Limited respectively reserve the right to accept or refuse any AAVS application without giving any reason therefor.
  3. We will forfeit the offer for an Eligible Octopus without prior notice if such Eligible Octopus or the Eligible AAVS on such Eligible Octopus is cancelled, suspended or invalidated for any reason prior to the Offer Fulfilment Period.
  4. We will send you an activation letter to confirm successful Eligible AAVS application. If you cancel the Eligible AAVS or lower the auto-reload amount on any Eligible Octopus within 18 months from the date of the activation letter, we may deduct the spending rebate from your Eligible Credit Card account without further notice to you.
  5. First time applications for the AAVS are free of charge. However, we will charge a handling fee of HK$20 to the Eligible Credit Card account that is linked as the AAVS account upon approval of the applications for:
    1. switching of AAVS from other banks or financial institutions; or
    2. re-activation of the AAVS following suspension for each Eligible Octopus.
  6. The terms and conditions of the Eligible Credit Card and the respective terms and conditions that govern the application for, and the use of, AAVS as stipulated or as identified in the relevant application forms will apply.
  7. This promotion is subject to these terms and conditions. We can change or cancel the offer or amend these terms and conditions. Please check our website for the latest details of this promotion, availability of the offer and, if available, the revised version of these terms and conditions.
  8. If we believe that you have acted in a fraudulent or abusive way, you will not be able to enjoy the offer and we can deduct the spending rebate or debit your credit card to take back any offer you have enjoyed, or cancel your credit card.
  9. In case of dispute arising out of this promotion, our decision shall be final and conclusive.
  10. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (‘Hong Kong’). In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the English version and the Chinese version of the promotional materials and these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail.
What these terms mean
  1. ‘Eligible Credit Card’ means any Hong Kong Dollar personal primary credit card or UnionPay Dual Currency primary credit card (applicable to the Hong Kong Dollar sub-account therein only) issued by The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited in Hong Kong (and its successors and assigns).
  2. ‘Eligible Octopus’ is any valid Octopus card or product (including Smart Octopus) as defined in the Conditions of Issue of Octopus published by Octopus Cards Limited (as amended from time to time). An Octopus that has been linked to any HSBC credit card account as the AAVS account on or before 31 January 2025 is not an Eligible Octopus.
  3. ‘Eligible AAVS’ means the Octopus Automatic Add Value Service (‘AAVS’) you have successfully applied for on an Eligible Octopus by linking such Eligible Octopus to your Eligible Credit Card as the AAVS account under this promotion. Any application for changing the AAVS auto-reload amount and/or re-activation of the AAVS following suspension is not Eligible AAVS.
  4. ‘Registration’ means the successful registration of an Eligible Credit Card via the mobile application HSBC HK Reward+ .
