HSBC Life “Sketch Your Promises, Stack Your Happiness” Creative Competition

All winners have been notified individually through the email provided on the registration form. Please check the email inbox for a response.
The winning entries will be showcased in an exhibition at The Plaza, HSBC Main building from 31 August to 1 September. Please come and join us!

HSBC Life is committed to safeguard the well-being of customers. With the same vision shared, HSBC Life collaborates with Dustykid, a popular local illustrator, to organise the “Sketch Your Promises, Stack Your Happiness” Creative Competition, enhancing public awareness of the mental health of children and teenagers.

We sincerely invite our HSBC customers to nominate their children and teenagers to join the competition, aiming to unleash imagination and unlock artistic talents by sketching stories of happiness and expressing inner feelings. The winning entries will be showcased in an exhibition and compiled into a storybook, to promote the importance of children and teenagers' mental health to the public. HSBC Life is committed to discovering the little joys in the lives of the young generation and fulfilling promises together.

Submission Period

15 April to 31 May 2024 noon

Eligibility

Only HSBC customers are eligible to be nominees. Entrants will be divided into 2 groups:

  • Junior Group: Aged 6 - 10
  • Youth Group: Aged 11 - 14

Competition Requirements

Step 1: Fill in the registration form

Step 2: Choose one or more of the below designated Dustykid character(s) and sketch the little story of happiness

Step 3: Write the little story of happiness

  • Junior Group (Aged 6 - 10): original content up to 30 words
  • Youth Group (Aged 11 - 14): original content between 30 to 100 words

Step 4: Submit the registration form and the creative entry

Important Note: Any creative generated by digital drawing software will not be accepted

Important Note: Any institutional names, trademarks, copyrighted characters or products appearing in the submitted entry will render eligibility of the entrant being revoked without notice.

Winner Notifications

All winners will be notified individually by HSBC Life through the email or telephone provided on the registration form on or before 31 July 2024.

HSBC Life “Sketch Your Promises, Stack Your Happiness” Creative Competition –
Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms and Conditions”)


HSBC Life (International) Limited (hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer”) is the organizer of HSBC Life “Sketch Your Promises, Stack Your Happiness” Creative Competition (hereinafter referred to as the “Competition”). All entrants (hereinafter referred to as “Entrants”) must participate in the Competition by submitting the registration form with the creation (hereinafter referred to as “Entries”) through their parents or guardians (hereinafter referred to as “Nominees”), who must be existing customers of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (and its successors and assigns) (hereinafter referred to as “HSBC”) aged 18 or above on April 15, 2024. Entrants must be aged between 6 and 14 during the Competition period from April 15, 2024 to noon May 31, 2024 (both dates inclusive). By enrolling in the Competition, the entrants and the nominees are deemed to have read, fully understood and agreed to the Terms and Conditions.

  1. Entry Requirements

    1. Each entrant must abide by the entry requirements listed on the Registration Form, include but not limited to “Submission Period”, “Eligibility”, “Prizes”, “Submission Requirements”, “Competition Requirements”, “Assessment, “Winner Notifications” and “Competition Timeline”, otherwise the eligibility of the entrant being revoked immediately without notice.
    2. Nominees must be existing HSBC customers aged 18 or above and the parents or guardians of the Entrants. Nominees and Entrants must provide full personal details for registration.
    3. The personal data collected from Nominees and Entrants with the Competition will be used for administering, organizing, conducting or otherwise managing the Competition and related activities only. All personal data in connection with the Competition will be properly deleted or destroyed within 6 months after the announcement of the Competition winners, excluding the winners' names, ages and participating groups which will be announced or used for exhibition(s) and storybook compilation, according to the terms and conditions of the Competition.
    4. Any incomplete or false information found will result in disqualification without explanation or notification.
    5. Nominees shall provide full and accurate information for registration. The names of winners will be bulk-printed on certificates, and/or promotional materials, and no modifications can be made once the production has commenced.
  2. Entry

    1. Each Entrant should only submit one registration and one entry (the “Entry”). Multiple submissions or late registration / entries will not be accepted.
    2. Once an Entry is successfully submitted, it cannot be modified or replaced.
    3. An Entry must be the original work of the Entrant and have not previously been disclosed or communicated to the public or submitted to other competitions in the past. Assistance from third party is not allowed. Using digital drawing apps & software or AI-generated drawing methods for creation are prohibited.
    4. An Entry should not infringe upon the rights (including intellectual property rights, rights of privacy or confidentiality) of any other parties. Otherwise, it would be disqualified for the Competition or award. Entrants are responsible for all legal liabilities. Shall their Entries violate any laws, the Organizer will not be held legally responsible. By submitting an Entry, the Nominee and the Entrant are deemed to have guaranteed that the Entry is not involved in any legal disputes.
    5. The Organizer has the right to disqualify any Entries which are obscene, vulgar, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, indecent, disparaging or content that is controversial and inappropriate.
    6. The Entry must not have been published or presented or publicized in any public events or exhibitions, and the Entry must not have been submitted or awarded with any prize in any other competitions or exhibitions in Hong Kong or elsewhere before.
    7. The Organizer takes no responsibilities for any damage or loss of the submitted physical entries (if any) in transit.
    8. Whenever disputes arise, the Organizer has the sole and absolute discretion to disqualify or disallow such Entry and its decision shall be final and conclusive. The Organizer will not provide any explanation or prior notice for any decision made.
  3. Awards and Prizes

    1. Winners of the awards will be notified individually on or before 31 July 2024 by phone and/or email address provided by the Nominee on registration form. Failure of any winner to respond to the notice within 14 business days will lead to forfeiture of the award, which may then be awarded to another appropriate Entrant without further notification.
    2. The Organizer reserves the right to request the winners to provide identification information for verification purposes, and the prizes can only be awarded after verification of identity.
    3. The Organizer has absolute discretion as to the total number of awards and prizes to be awarded in the Competition. The prizes will be subject to any changes thereto as the Organizer sees appropriate.
    4. Prizes cannot be returned, resold or exchanged for cash.
    5. For the prizes (or any substitute prizes) supplied by third parties, the Organizer shall not be responsible for any legal liabilities related to the prizes. The supplier(s) of the prizes shall be solely responsible for all issues relating to the prizes including quality and availability. Any disputes or complaints relating to the prizes shall be settled between the winners and suppliers directly.
      No appeals will be entertained for the Competition. Decisions reached by the Panel shall be final. If the Organizer deems that the winner(s) is/are disqualified for any reason (including for breach of and/or non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions) the Orgainzer reserves the right to forfeit the award(s) from the winner(s) and transfer the award(s) to such other entrant(s) as the Organizer deems fit. The Organizer reserves the right to interpret and revise the rules and other requirements of the Competition.
  4. Intellectual Property Rights

    1. Once the Nominee and the Entrant has submitted the registration form and the Entry, the Nominee and the Entrant are deemed to have agreed to grant and assign absolutely to the Organizer all present and future rights, title, and interest to all intellectual property rights of the submitted Entry. The Organizer has the absolute right to display the Entry for publication, exhibition, promotional activities.
    2. The Organizer has the authority to edit, adapt, use, copy and distribute, in whole or in part of the Entries without any need for prior consent of or payment of fees to the entrants. No part of the Entry will be returned to the entrant.
    3. In the event the Entrant intends to submit the same Entry to any other competition or exhibition or activity, the Entrant must undertake to seek the Organizer’s prior written consent, and must inform the organizer of such competition, exhibition or activity that the intellectual property rights of the Entry belong to the Organizer.
  5. Disclaimer

    1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organizer expressly disclaims all warranties or representations in relation to the prizes, including and without limitation to, all implied Terms and Conditions as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and exercise of care and skill. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organizer assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage that may be suffered or caused as a result of participating in the Competition or using any awards nor any damage that may be caused to the Entry if the Organizer shall in its absolute discretion choose to return the Entry to the Entrant.
    2. No claims, actions or legal proceedings in connection with the Competition, participation in the Competition or the use or prizes brought by any Entrant or other interested parties will be entertained by the Organizer.
    3. The Organizer reserves the right to change the Terms and Conditions and other requirements of the Competition and cancel the Competition at any time without prior notice.
    4. By entering this Competition, all entrants agree to release, discharge, exempt and hold harmless the Organizer and its partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives (to the extent applicable) from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this Competition or any Competition-related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded hereunder.
    5. The Organizer assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion or missing of data, defect, or delay in operation or transmission; communications line failure; theft or destruction of or unauthorized access to the Entries or registration forms; or alteration of Entries or registration forms.
    6. The Organizer is not responsible for any problems with or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, human errors of any kind, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrants’ or any other persons’ computers related to or resulting from participation, uploading or downloading of any materials related to in this Competition.
  6. Personal Data

    1. Once the Nominee and the Entrant has submitted the registration form and the Entry, the Nominee and the Entrant are deemed to understand and consent to the Organizer’s use of the personal data for the purposes of the Competition and such use to be in accordance with the Notice of Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (https://www.hsbc.com.hk/en-hk/legal/privacy-security/)
    2. The personal data collected from the Nominees and the Entrants with the Competition will be used for administering, organizing, conducting or otherwise managing the competition and related activities only. All personal data in connection with the Competition will be properly deleted or destroyed within 6 months after the announcement of the competition winners, excluding the winners' names, ages and participating groups which will be announced or used for exhibition(s) and storybook compilation, according to the terms and conditions of the Competition.
    3. The Nominees or the Entrants have the right to request access or make changes to the personal data already submitted to the Organizer.
    4. The Organizer may disclose the personal data submitted by the Nominees and the Entrants when required by law or court order, or as requested by the government or law enforcement authorities, or in the good faith that such disclosure is necessary or advisable to protect the rights or properties of HSBC Life (International) Limited.
    5. The Organizer may disclose the personal data to third parties for the purpose of the Competition to the external service providers or website developers or other parties engaged by the Organizer to assist with the development, organization and administration of the Competition.
  7. Miscellaneous

    1. The power to interpret the Terms and Conditions shall be vested in the Organizer.
    2. The Competition and the Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR.
    3. The English version shall prevail in the event of any inconsistency of interpretation of the Terms and Conditions. The Chinese version is for reference only.
