Cancer Support Services

During the course of treatment, patients and caregivers alike need support to deal with side-effects, as well as encouragement to complete the treatment. When treatment is over, survivors would benefit from a post-treatment care plan and useful wellness tips, apart from seeing the doctor for follow-up consultations. All of these go a long way to help survivors get as healthy as possible.

It would be useful to get help from cancer support bodies for your post-treatment care plan, or for advice in handling more challenging situations.  A comprehensive range of such support services, covering information sharing, wellness tips and emotional support can be sought from Hong Kong Cancer Fund free of charge. Patient groups or cancer resource centres at hospitals also provide similar help and services.

Hong Kong Cancer Fund provides free community resources and support to cancer patients and their families. Key areas include:

  • Professional counselling

  • Peer support

  • Home care programmes

  • Young survivors support

  • Self help group support

  • Nursing consultation

  • Dietetic services

  • Rehabilitation services

  • Therapeutic workshops

  • Relief funds and subsidies
